Yacht Management Professionals (YMP) started when Grif saw, and experienced, a huge problem that occurs on a daily basis in the marine industry.

That problem is that boat owners and captains have a hard time referring people to do good efficient work for a fair price and trust that it gets done correctly. For a long time, owners and captains have had to settle and be frustrated with their results due to lack of communication, inconsistent follow through, and unprofessional work. It’s mostly a shot in the dark dealing with the next company unless they have built a reputable business. That is where YMP comes in. We practice what we preach!

Our seasoned crew of dedicated professionals are more than just skilled laborers. We are made of a passionate group of individuals devoted to  the marine industry who love what we do and it shows in our work.

We treat each boat as if it were our own! As a team, we aim to go above and beyond what we are hired to do and work hard to exceed expectation. As a whole, YMP possesses a continual strive to live out our company motto… “Enjoy the water. We got this.” This means your vessel is always ready to leave the dock.  Grif Blackstone – President

Grif bought his first sailboat at 15 years old and learned to sail on Lake Erie. Realizing the lake wasn’t big enough at just 19, he sought out to do a transatlantic on a 192′ motorsailer as a 2nd mate. He spent three years extensively traveling the Mediterranean and the Caribbean Sea then continued his passion for boating and the water by moving his company Blackstone Agency, a marketing agency specializing in the marine and aviation industries, onboard a yacht in Marina Bay. Grif has lived, breathed, and literally worked on boats for most of his life. 

 Karina Gonzalez – Operations Coordinator

Karina has been in the Customer Service Industry for over 6 years specializing in communication, diplomacy and the ability to coordinate needs effectively and efficiently at all levels. As the Operational Coordinator, Karina is the primary point of contact and responsible for liaising with Owners, Captains and Vendors. Karina is the “Captain of the Schedule” and happy to direct everything ensuring successful projects.

 

 

 Melinda Smith – Charter and Brokerage Assistant 

Melinda has worked in the sales industry for over 8 years providing long-lasting client relationships by utilizing her background in sales and organization to foster professional and positive relationships. Melinda assists  to maintain the difference that YMP delivers each day, with all of our clients.
